As part of the final examination, you are required to write an essay relevant to the course and its themes.

The essay should be written in English or German, be 10 - 15 pages long, (double-spaced pages = 3500-5500 words, not including the bibliography).
You may use whatever system of citation and formatting that you are used to. If you have questions about that, please email me (citation systems that I am used to include MLA, Chicago and Harvard).
Please make sure to include your name on every page (in the footer or header) and your name and email address on the first page of the essay.

The deadline is September 30, 2011. Please email your essay (in Word or Pages format) to engbergmaria @

If you have any questions regarding the scope, question, or chosen methodology of your essay, please email me.

A sample essay is included below, purely as an example. There are other successful models of writing, so again, if you have questions please ask. Please note that you may not quote or distribute the sample essay.
